I found out on Sunday that the painting next weekend has been canceled. Boo!

Join the Young Adult Group in Volunteering This Month!

April 11th: Paint the Sanctuary! Show up in your grubbiest clothes and help us paint two walls in the sanctuary. We’ll break for lunch and all eat together! The church will provide the materials (unless you have extras on hand—like ladders and brushes). Childcare will be provided, but please contact Sunshine so that we have enough providers (jaden_rain@hotmail.com)! We’ll play loud music, snack all day, and enjoy one another’s company!

April 18th: Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in our community! Bring your own (marked) tools such as: hammer, tape measure if you’ve got them!

• 9 a.m. Welcome and safety meeting
• 9:15 a.m. Build with Habitat for Humanity
• 12 p.m. Lunch. Please bring lunch.
• 12:45 Build with Habitat for Humanity .
• 4 p.m. Clean-up and sign out

March Events!

What: Wine and Cheese Tasting Party!
When: March 22nd, 4:30pm
Where: Heather's House! (email jaden_rain@hotmail.com for address)

Details: We need 5 volunteers to bring a bottle of either their favorite wine or a wine they'd like the group to try. For the rest not bringing wine, please bring a fancy cheese. Heather will provide crackers and other snacks. Grape juice, tea, and coffee will be provided as well.

For Fun!!: We will have a "guess the most/least expensive wine" game. Prizes will be provided for the winners!

What: Earth Hour! http://www.earthhour.org/
When: March 28 8:30-9:30pm
Where: I'm not sure yet!
Details: I haven't quite figured them out yet, but Earth Hour is one hour of darkness. No lights, no heat, no nothing! Last year, Jaime and I played scrabble by candle light. It was a lot of fun! I'm hoping to spread the word about this very UU friendly worldwide event!

Game Night!

Oh my goodness. If you did not attend our first YAG game night...you missed out! There will be several very memorable moments. For instance: Justin drawing "raccoon" when he should have been drawing "glow"), actually, any of Justin's pictures were noteworthy (particularly "pharmacy") Daniel's depiction of a gorilla, that both Lisa and I thought looked like Thomas the Train, and who will forget, quiet Jaime Doll, who was our switch hitter and tried to save the losing team (which, he failed to do). Apples to Apples was an addictive little game that we're sure to play again and again!

Can't wait to see everyone at the next YAG event...a wine tasting party! Keep your eyes peeled for more information!

Drinks With Darwin

We had a great night at the Pacific Science Center, celebrating Darwin's 200th birthday and looking at the new Lucy exhibit!
